A Legacy in the Making

Imagine a world where compassion knows no borders, and unity thrives beyond differences—a world where sports meet souls, uniting hearts and minds, transcending cultural and national boundaries, and reminding us of our shared humanity. The One World One Family Cup (OWOF Cup), inspired by the timeless Indian Philosophy of vasudhaiva kutumbakam—“the world is one family”, embodies this vision. This extraordinary event isn’t just a cricket match but a celebration of universal compassion, proving that when we come together as one family, anything is possible.

The OWOF Cup: Cricket Meets Compassion

Launched in 2024 by the Sri Madhusudan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission (SMSGHM), the OWOF Cup is more than a game—it’s a movement. Cricket legends from across the globe came together for the inaugural tournament to support transformative humanitarian initiatives.
Cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar eloquently captured its essence:“We may play for our countries against each other, but at the end of the day, we are still one world, one family. Just as a family looks after each member, so too must the world care for one another. This is what the game of cricket teaches us—that for everybody to prosper, we need to come together as a team.”

Building on its inaugural success, the OWOF Cup returns in 2025 with an electrifying match between cricketing giants from India (Team One World) and Sri Lanka (Team One Family). The event will take place at the Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium in Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli, on 8 February 2025.

Beyond Cricket: Transforming Lives

The OWOF Cup is a celebration of the values of love, unity, and humanity, with a singular focus on creating lasting impact.

Proceeds from the event support impactful humanitarian initiatives, including:

Nutrition: Providing morning nutrition to over 10 million schoolchildren.

Education: Offering free, values-based education to rural children.

Healthcare: Delivering free medical treatment through specialty hospitals and outreach programmes.

Medical Education: Supporting India’s first free rural medical college.

Global Impact: Building the world’s largest free hospital.

Sri Madhusudan Sai, the visionary behind these initiatives, says:

“To consider some people as our own and some as others is the way of narrow-minded people. But for the broad-minded, the whole world is one family. In our institutions, from the watchman to the chairman, we work together with this idea. A family doesn’t thrive on the survival of the fittest but on the survival of the weakest and the most vulnerable.”

Cricketing Legends at the OWOF Cup (1st Edition)

The event resonates deeply with the players, many of whom are inspired by its transformative mission.

Cricket stars supporting Mission

  • Sachin     Tendulkar: “ I had the privilege to visit the hospital in Palwal 12 years ago and then in Navi Mumbai as well. Both hospitals were brilliant, but there was one thing missing—the cashier’s desk. I’ve never visited a hospital where all treatments are free of cost. I’ve seen parents enter with worried faces but leave with smiles, knowing their child’s life is the biggest gift. A big thank you on behalf of the cricketing fraternity for contributing in every possible way.
  • Yuvraj Singh:“Free nutrition, free healthcare is something our country needs. Providing food and healthcare to those who need it brings the biggest happiness. This is the greatest blessing.”
  • Irfan Pathan:“The work being done here is fantastic. It’s heartwarming to see so many people benefit—from kids getting educated to people being fed. That’s outstanding.”
